Title: Monitoring of watchdirectory status
Post by Danny on Dec 18th, 2003 at 7:08am
We are going to run a number of WatchDirectories as services.  This is tested and all works well.
I need to know if these are ever stopped.
I can use Host Monitoring  system software to monitor the services. But I really want to monitor these services secretely (Big Brother) to ensure they are not deliberately stopped.
What we would be nice is that each watchDirectory update a simple text file each time it would send a notification to WatchdirectoryMonitor.
These way I could have another application on  another server that is monitoring these files. Thanks

Danny,

I could build a small program for you that listenes to the same port as the watchDirectoryMonitor program and writes all messages received to a file of your choosing.

If you, or anybody else, is interested in such a program, just let me know.
