Title: Changing FTP File Name
Post by cdacey on Mar 4th, 2005 at 4:31pm
Is it possible to change the file name when you FTP.
As example,
I have a file nammed extract01212004.txt .   When it hits a specified directory, I need to FTP to another site and always call it the same name (i.e. always "ABCFILENAME" with no .txt extension).

I then would like to archive my original file with its original name by moving into another folder.

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, that should be possible.

If you look inside the .bat file there is a line like this:

Code (]ECHO put "%WD_FILE_N%"        >> %RESFI%
[/code):

If you change that to
[code]ECHO put "%WD_FILE_N%" "ABCFILENAME" >> %RESFI%

all files will be transfered as ABCFILENAME in the future. If you only want this to happen for certain files, let me know.

Gert
