Title: Specify programs to ignore while monitoring
Post by BrianM on Feb 2nd, 2006 at 10:19pm
Perhaps I am doing something incorrectly. I basically want to use the application to monitor access to a specific folder (as well as changes) but most important is knowing Who is trying (or succeding) to get in and when. I was able to succesfully configure the application (or so I thought) but I quickly recieved over 1000 emails announcing the files were accessed by wdRun.exe application.

I was using the Fast method because I thought the documentation said it didn't traverse the folders. Of course I must have broken it because it doesn't work atm but I digress...

Is it possible to filter out accesses to the monitored folder by application in a future release?

We are rewriting the auditing plugin (Who Did it) at the moment. The new version will filter out those wdRun accesses. I am not sure if the new version will be ready for the next release (1 or 2 weeks from now), but it will be the release after that (1.5 month from now).
