If i want to make thumbnail from PDF (multipage) or EPS or TIFF (cmyk prepress)
it was a good think to include the free imageMagick library? into your plugin "Automatically Create Thumbnails" ?
There is also the PDF995 and http://www.omniformat.com/ to convert other input files... ???

thanks

Actually, it is already possible (just not really documented) - I will write a web-page about it.
Basically, what you need to do:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=24099

And, assuming you install it in

C:\Program Files\ImageMagick

You can use watchDirectory's  "automatically run a batch file" plugin to auto convert PDF to JPG.
The batch file you need to start is like the following one liner (take care of linewraps):
"C:\Program Files\ImageMagick\convert.exe" "%WD_FILE%" -resize 50%% "%WD_FILE_D%%WD_FILE_B%.jpg"
Use the "filter events" window so WD will only monitor for PDF files. It will create the JPG in the same directory as where the PDF is found.
