Title: FTP upload deletes file immediately after sending
Post by Keith on Mar 8th, 2007 at 6:54pm
When using the FTP upload plugin (4.2.0.400), and checking the "Move file to" box under "After uploading the file", the file gets uploaded to the FTP site, but then the plugin appears to connect again to the FTP site and proceed to delete the file.  This doesn't happen without the "Move file to" box checked, the file is simply uploaded and left alone.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?  What I need this task to do is move the original file from the monitored directory to somewhere else after is it successfully uploaded to the FTP server.

I have attached the history and config files.

Thanks.  Any help is appreciated!

Hello Keith,

This is caused by the selection "FILEDEL" on the "events" tab. This will cause the upload plugin to "mirror" local deletes on the remote server. If you deselect this option, the plugin will not delete any files on your FTP server.

The previous release fixed this mirroring for files that were deleted because of the "delete after upload" setting, stupid enough... we forgot to implement it for the "move after upload" setting. This will be fixed in the next few days, and available as a new beta version on the "Beta" forum.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Gert

That did it!  Not an inconvenience at all.  Thank you so much for the quick reply too.

The new 4.2.1 beta 3 (see http://www.watchdirectory.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1173257258 ) has fixed this issue.
The FILEDEL option is not selected by default anymore, and if it is selected, the upload task will not remove the remote file if the local file is moved.
