Title: FTP Plugin issue with FileZilla
Post by jimaus on Aug 15th, 2007 at 8:16am
Hi Gert,

I am trying to connect to a FileZilla server with FTP but I get access denied messages when the file is seen by WD and it tries to send it.

The user is setup in FileZilla so the folder the file is to be copied in to is the root for  that user, so no change directory commands are required.

Attached is the setup for WD and the response from FileZilla, it appears that WD is trying to change to the root of the ftp server and therefore generating the "access denied" messages.

Sending to a IIS based ftp server does not have the same problem.

Cheers

Jim

Hello Jim,

This issue is fixed with the latest beta of WD (see http://www.watchdirectory.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1181799624/5#5 ). If you don't want to install the beta, make sure to enter the proper "home directory" of the user. When you leave the directory empty, the currently released versions of WD will always try to CD to / (root). The beta will, instead, ask the ftp server for the proper home directory of the logged in user.

Gert

Thanks Gert,

I have loaded the beta onto by test box and it works ok.

Cheers

Jim
