Title: Rename Plugin not working
Post by Ade on Mar 1st, 2010 at 1:26pm
I'm trying to create a simple file rename task, which watchDirectory (Professional 4.6.0) allows me to do, but when I try to run the task I see an error "Plugin could not load" "Not Supported". I've looked in c:\program files\watchdirectory\Plugins and wdopAutoRename.bmp, .dll, .dll.qh, .dll_deu.qh, .html and .meta appear there. If I try to go back in and edit the Rename task it gives me the messagebox "Cannot find the plugin that handles this task".

Any thoughts as to how I can get this working?

Regards,
Ade

Hello Ade,

That sounds strange. Can you email me a backup of this task? See my signature below for my email address.

To create the backup:
* Stop the task
* Right-click it (a popup menu shows)
* Select the option "Backup selected task".

Please email me the ZIP it creates.
Gert

Turns out our corporate IT dept had installed some encryption software on to my PC, and so the config file had been encrypted (plus an upgrade from wd 4.5.8 to 4.6 hadn't helped).  >:(

Yes, the task settings you sent to me looked like complete garbage.

Strange Encryption software. I think it should allow transparent access to all files it has encrypted so other programs continue to work. For example, the professional versions of Windows also have optional encryption. Programs that run on it just see the unencrypted files.
