Title: Rename files
Post by markc0 on Sep 19th, 2011 at 6:32pm
Hi

Just downloaded the watchDirectory as im wanting to have a Watched folder and when a file is placed in append to the start of this file BR1 or somrthing.
I have gone through the new task for renameFiles and added {filename} as the old value and BR!{filename} as the new value
and then set my output folder (as i understand it will rename the file and then move it).
When i run my task i get Init for Monitor fails

Any ideas or have i set this up wrong?

thanks

M

Hello Mark,

This sounds like WD has issues accessing the drive/directory that you are monitoring.

If you run this task as a Windows Service, please make sure to read
http://blog-en.gdpsoftware.com/2010/04/watchdirectory-tasks-as-windows-service.html

If that doesn't help, please enable "Debug" and email a backup for me to look at as described here:

I have changed the input directory, now i have turned off the windows service and selected the run manual (f5) and i have the black window come up and saying about its a VM detected.
then giving me the the install dir, task dir, take file and monitoring dir which all seem correct
but then its just frozen and not doing anything

I have this same issue. Contacted support 2 weeks ago, received the automated email. No follow-up since. I either need a reponse or I'm looking for alternative software that actually gets supported.

Hi,

I received an email from you a few minutes after this forum post and replied to that.

It seems your previous email (2 weeks ago) got lost somehow.
