Title: Error Code 64, error and warning email alerts
Post by michelle on Feb 7th, 2013 at 4:36pm
Hello,

I have 5 tasks configured to delete files.  3 tasks watch different directories on one network share, while the other 2 watch directories on other network shares.  The 3 tasks that all point to directories on the same share are generating Error Code 64 warnings (The specified network name is no longer available.) at the same time every night, but the other 2 tasks never generate those warnings.

I thought it might be our backup interfering with watchdirectory, but the message seems to indicate that the share/volume is going down temporarily.  I'll be working/pressing the infrastructure team more to determine root cause.  Any ideas as to what might be causing the warnings are welcome though.

However, my primary question to the group here is whether there is a way to configure the messages on the "Other..." tab so only "errors" and not "warnings" are sent to the configured email address (where it says "For warnings and errors, send email alerts to the addres below")?  I suspect not ... but figured I'd better ask.

Thanks.

Hello Michelle,

To "filter out" emails you have no interest in, you can change a System.Mail setting, this is described in this (unrelated) blogpost:
http://blog-en.gdpsoftware.com/2010/02/receive-email-when-no-files-are-created.html

Basically, in your case, you enter something like
network name is no longer available
as one of the message body filters.

I am not sure why you are receiving those errors, hope you will find the reason for it.

Thank you Gert for the quick response (nochmal!)

I will review the blog post link you provided and try that out.  From what I can tell, this would be a global setting that applies to all tasks.  Is that correct?

Thank you again for the assist.
