Title: mix of quiet timer and schedule interval
Post by stigmortennegard on Oct 4th, 2013 at 2:49pm
Hi!

I'm trying to do the same task as described in - http://www.watchdirectory.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1264068373 and http://blog-en.gdpsoftware.com/2010/02/receive-email-when-no-files-are-created.html

I catch the quiet event, but I have problem solving the mix of scheduled interval and the time the quiet method checks for updates.

In basic I need to do:
A file is normaly created 16:55. I would like to catch if this is not happening, and send me an email.
I set my scheduler to work between 16:55 and 16:56. I look for filechanges during the last 45 sec.

I see this:
The file arrives 16:55:09. I still get the email with "nothing happend" reason. It seems to me that the jobb actualy runs between 16:55:00 to 16:56:45.
When the scheduled time ends, the jobb still checks for 45 sec. for changes. The same happends when I adjust the quite time. I.e. 300 sec. ads 300 sec. on top of the scheduled interval. Even if I use 16:55 to 16:55, it checks for new/updated files for one minute + the quite time. The job always alerts me for missing updated files.

I run the 4.6.7 version.

Any ideas to get around this?

I think an issue was fixed in the v4.7 beta - see http://www.watchdirectory.net/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1352102554

If I remember correctly, v4.7 will start the QUIET timer when the scheduled period starts. Earlier versions were a little random with their QUIET timer.
