Title: Email FTP Task completion
Post by Tres on Jan 8th, 2014 at 7:49pm
We have a task that sends out an file via FTP every day once a file drops to a directory. We also like this task to send out an email stating that the FTP has been completed.

Has anyone done this before?

Hello Tres,

If you use the "Subtask" plugin - http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/plugins/wdopMultiPlugin.html - you can configure the upload task as the first and email task as the second subtask.

An alternative way to do this...
Set the upload task to delete or move the file after upload. Create another task with the email plugin detecting this move or delete.

I am now trying to do this for a task that FTPs multiple files once a day. When it does this the sub tasks sends out an email for every file uploaded.

Any way I can make it so it sends just one email for all 20-30 files it uploaded?

Press the "Combine" button on the email subtask - http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/plugins/wdopAutoEmail.html

I never tested it for subtasks, but I don't see why it should not work.
