Title: How to run ... problems running as a service
Post by TonyF on Nov 26th, 2014 at 11:20am
I have a task that runs fine if I start it manually but if I try to run it as a service, the task starts for a few seconds then stops. Also, if I log of the Windows 2003 server, the task stops running despite me checking the 'Keep running...' option. I attach a zip file containing the cfg and history file.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I guess you didn't make the zip the way described here, because I can not import it:

But I am 99% sure this blog will help:

Hi Gert,

Many thanks for your prompt response. The blog page you indicated answered all my questions.

The service had been using the Local.System which could not access the monitored network drives. I have now used a 'WatchDirectory' service account with the right access privileges and asked my IT service desk to set the password to 'never expire'.

Thanks again.

Tony
