Title: PDF Print Orientation
Post by TheHoff on Nov 23rd, 2016 at 4:49pm
HI, I need to print pdf files with landscape orientation - for a customer project where DHL Shipping labels have to be printed from a directory.
Watchdirectory prints them always in portait orientation !

Application is not running as a service and i have admin rights - System is a Server 2012 OS and Windows 8 testing machine both behave the same.
Ihave tried all settings possible within the pdf print plugin of watchdirectory... nothing helps !?

Any Ideas what can be wrong ?

Thx !

Hi,

Not sure if this will fix it, but the current beta (due to be released in a few days) has an improved/reimplemented Print Pdf task. You can download the beta here: http://www.watchdirectory.net/cgi-bin/yabb25/YaBB.pl?num=1475395725

Hi,

Thank you for the release .
But unfortunately it has no other effects on the print out.
Still only portrait orientation.
I have also tried to set the default printer settings to landscape orientation and set the checkbox within watchdirectory to use the printer default settings, but it still prints only with portrait orientation.    :(

A colleague mentioned to me that some printers have an option to "optimize" print settings (no matter what a program asks them to do). Perhaps that is the cause?
It is quite strange.

what can i do instead ?
i have to print those *##+#* Labels in landscape format :-(

Perhaps you can try the "print with Foxit" task? When you create a new task it is on the "other" (last tab) of the task selection window.
