Title: Wildcards - matching pattern fails
Post by IPA on Jan 29th, 2017 at 4:28am
What are the restrictions and rules for filename matching patterns with wildcards?  *.* and *.txt work fine however the following fails
05837_6237122_*.TXT
Why does this fail?

Are you matching against the correct "part" of the file name?
For example, when C:\Monitor\05837_6237122_abc.txt is detected
File Name will be 05837_6237122_abc.txt
File Title will be 05837_6237122_abc
Complete Path will be C:\Monitor\05837_6237122_abc.txt

If you match against the complete path, your *.* obviously matches.
*.txt will also match (* will "consume" C:\Monitor\05837_6237122_abc)

Your 05837_6237122_*.TXT will NOT match because
C:\Monitor\05837_6237122_abc.txt does not start with 0583.....

Thank you, that was very helpful for the file name masking at the job level.  However, my job has multiple sub-tasks.  The job will run, but the sub-task (according to the task history in debug mode) do not match the mask.  I have looked for typos and the typical user mistakes.

The last piece of the puzzle is the software requires the full path as a part of the mask.  This should be resolved now.

Correct, we should make that more obvious.
