set a directory for a full scan?
Aug 2nd, 2005 at 1:41pm

I set the option for 'scan all files on launch' , but that doesn't do anything.

What is a simple file or batch i can run on a system launch that will quickly change all the files in such a way that watchdir will start processing them?

The option "Fire FILENEW/DIRNEW events for all files on startup", located on the "Other" tab (http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/wdnewconfigpage6.html works fine for me - just tested with v4. However, that option will only do something if you enabled "new files" on the events tab.

Same goes for the previous versions (3.x) of watchDirectory. I am not sure why you do not see this behavior.

Look into the XCOPY command to copy all files to another (monitored) directory. However, like I said, it should not be needed.
What WD version are you talking about?
