Zip Files
Feb 7th, 2006 at 11:05pm

Can we Auto Zip a folder which are over 90 Days old.

here is what we want to do.  We have a folder name ABC.. There are multiple Sub Folders withing ABC.

Sub Folder Names:

123
456
789

Out of this 3 subfolders, 123 is over 90 days tomorrow. Would it be possible that that folder gets autozip file done and the zip file can still stay in the Main folder ABC or different folder. Then after certain time, our employee will get all this zipped files which are done and burned it to DVD.

Thanks

This is not directly possible.
However, you can use the .bat file plugin together with the Scheduler.

The .bat file would only "trigger" for new directories (DIRNEW on the events window ), and you would set the scheduler to delay for 90 days.

Inside your .bat file, you can use a commandline compress utility to ZIP the directory. I have a sample script for you, just contact me at the email address below.
