Task Dependencies
Feb 12th, 2006 at 6:04am

Is it possible to have one task dependent on another task?

1. I would like one task to count files and then ftp to a server.
2. I would like to copy the files to another directory to archive them and delete upon successful copy.

Hi,

At the moment there is no direct way to have dependencies. A work around is described in our newsletter (the "chaining tasks" topic).

In your case, you could also try the following:

use the copy files plugin to copy the files to your archive directory.
use the ftp files plugin to upload them (and delete after successful upload). If you use the scheduler to delay the upload task a few seconds/minutes, it should work fine.
