email, copy and then delete
Mar 30th, 2006 at 10:23am

Dear,

I want to monitor a directory when new files created,

1) an email will be sent;
2) the file is copied to some location;
3) delete that file.

Is this possible?

Is there any precedence on the task list?

Hi,

It will be easiest to create 2 tasks for that.
The first task uses the email plugin to send your email.
Then create another task with the copy files or sort files plugin to copy the file. Both these plugins have an option to delete the file after copying.

Make sure to delay the second (copy) task a bit, using the delay option because if the file is deleted before the email task processes the file, the email task will ignore the file.

Probably best to use the default delay period for the email task (2 seconds), and set the copy task to delay 5 seconds.
