Way to send all files matching specific date?
Aug 14th, 2008 at 3:53pm

I currently have an FTP job setup to FTP files from one server to another if they match specific file names.

I have a server that is receiving the files and it was down for like 15 minutes (thanks to VMware ESX licensing problem yesterday!) and the WD job that is sending the files via FTP to this other server stopped.  I restarted the WD job on the server sending files via FTP to the server that was down (after I was able to bring it back up).  Once the job was restarted, it sends ALL files matching the file specifications I set in the job setup (which is how the job should work I assume).

What I would like to know how to do (and if this is not a feature, I would like to request an enhancement) that you can specify what date the file should be (like today's date or a date range), in-addition so specifying if it's a new file, changes made to the file (date or size), etc...

Thanks for any help!

You probably have the option
"Fire FILENEW/DIRNEW for all files at startup"
on the "other settings" window selected. That can cause this.

The closest thing that does this is the
"File Age Monitoring method" (see http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/wdnewconfigpage3.html and http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/detect_old_files.html ).
That will trigger an event (and thus upload the file) when it has a certain age. To prevent the file being uploaded multiple times (the second time the file is checked by WatchDirectory it is even older), make sure to enable the "Remember triggered files" option.
