Help with Copy Files Plugin
Jun 16th, 2010 at 3:20pm

Hi!
This is the first time i'm using WD.

I'm trying to understand if it's the right software for my needs...

I tried the copy files plugin, but it doesn't act as i'm expecting... but probably it's me Wink

I'm watching a folder, and I need to move to another only the modified files.

The "source" directoyry is updated from a scheduled FTP task that keep the original date/time on the files.

I would like to empty my "target" directory before the ftp task (and i know how to do it), but it seems WD doesn't keep a internal DB with the file details, so if I empty the target folder, WD copies everything everytime, when I need only the modificed/added files.

Am I missing some steps or is it not possible?

Thank you!

Marco

Hello Marco,

WD never "looks" at the target directory to determine if it should process a file. Only changes (new/changed files) in the source directory should determine if WD processes files.

There is one big exception:
If you tell WD to "fire FILENEW events for all files at startup" (on the "other" settings page), WD will happily do so if you restart the task.
