FTP upload to MVS (IBM mainframe)
Mar 9th, 2011 at 10:37am
I can't have the FTP plugin work correctly with an IBM mainframe (OS=MVS). Sad
I made several tries and I only got files uploaded to the default MVS "directory". For instance myFile.txt is uploaded to ECONTOU.MYFILE.TXT (ECONTOU is the userid bound to the FTP connexion), even if I parameterize {year}{month}{day} in the "remote file name"
Does anybody have any experience with uploading files to MVS ?
Even with debug mode, I can't see the results of FTP commands in the history log.
From Windows, I successfully use Filezilla or direct FTP commands to upload files to MVS

Bonsoir Jean-Francois,

I just emailed you the below on your question:

Please note we also have French language support (Jacob, cc-ed in this email). However, for those highly technical issues, Jacob would probably have sent your question to me anyway.

Anyway, uploading to MVS we have not much experience with as we can not test this.

Can you please follow the steps described in this blogpost:

so you enable the debug options, let it upload a file and send me the backup of your task?

It would help us very much if you can create an FTP account for us to do some testing against MVS for ourself. I can not promise anything as MVS has a "strange" file storage (sequential and partitioned datasets), but I would like to see if we can make WatchDirectory and WatchFTP more compatible.
