MonitorLocalShare

We were hoping Watchdirectory would be able to help us in spotting deletions of files in a directory.

This is on Server 2008, and I was able to set up WatchDirectory to show events when I manually deleted files from that directory.

We are trying to track when our software deletes a file, and when I had the MonitorLocalShare task set to detect FILEDEL and DIRDEL, it never picked up anything when our software deleted a file.

I'm curious if there is any way a file can be deleted that WatchDirectory won't detect, as this would make WatchDirectory useless in trying to troubleshoot the issue that our software might be having.

Thanks

Hello Dennis,

Can you enable debug, run the task, let your software delete a file, stop the task and email me a backup of the task (gert at gdpsoftware dot com).
More info here: http://blog-en.gdpsoftware.com/2010/06/send-task-backup-to-support.html
