We are running WD Professional 4.6.7.

We have some different tasks, Upload and Copy, that monitor a network share.

We have seen a recent increase in Error Code: 121.

The history shows two entries:

Directory monitor has encountered a problem, will retry after 30 seconds
Can not get status of directory, error message: Error Code: 121 Description: The semaphore timeout period has expired

The tasks never recover and we have to stop an start them.

Anything we should be looking at?

Please update all Nic drivers on all servers that are involved.
Please check also that there are no filenames larger than 256 chars (path+filename).

Dirk,

Wasn't this caused by time differences between servers? You remember that kerebos (?) error???

Nope, the time error clearly says: "there is a time difference". The error rsallen reports is a windows error and can have a lot of causes.
It can also be a disk going out of space or highly fragmented. Run chkdsk on the disk.
