Watchdirectory hang when firing VBS scripts.
Dec 2nd, 2013 at 8:06pm

We have "watchDirectory Professional 4.6.7", running VBS scripts flawlessly for almost a month. Over the weekend it stopped processing. I confirmed by manually copying a file and nothing happened. I restarted the task and it worked fine; a known issue, or something else we need to do.?

Hi,

Is this task monitoring a network drive (\\server\share\somedir)? If you use the Fast or Default monitoring method, they could "hang" when there is a network issue. For network drives you should use the Polling or File Age monitoring methods.

It is monitoring a network(UNC) path yes, so I will change it. Our network does loose connections occasionally during maintenance windows.
