action based on file date and time stamp
Sep 24th, 2014 at 5:49am

I have a working directory in which any incoming files should be process and gone from this location. However, i would like to get an email from Watchdirectory if it finds any file older than 10min. if the file is more than 10min, it means this file didn't get process and immediate action is required by the operator. Currently, i configure the watchdirectory to email if there is no activity on the file system....but this is not what my boss is looking for. Thanks, Si

This should be easy.

Use the email task - http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/plugins/wdopAutoEmail.html

On "Events" only select the "FILENEW" option - http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/wdnewconfigpage4.html

On "Monitoring method" select "File Age" - http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/wdnewconfigpage3.html and http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/detect_old_files.html

If you want only ONE email for a particular file, make sure to set the option "Remember triggered files". If you do not select that option you will receive an email for the same file after every scan of the directory.

Hope this helps.
