FoxitReader not closing
Nov 4th, 2014 at 1:26pm

We have been using WatchDirectory (WD) to print barcode labels for several years now. Recently, we have had to move the barcode printer to a users pc. I have had to install WD and FoxitReader on that pc. I have got WD working but it opens a Foxit Reader window and does not close it. This possibly prevents subsequent barcodes being printed.

Should I need to close FoxitReader after each print?
And if so, how do I close FoxitReader

I am using
WatchDirectory version 4.8.8
Foxit Reader version 7.0.3.916
On a Windows7 pc

Thanks in advance

Hello Roger,

It looks like the current Foxit has some issue, we got several reports about this. See my answer here how you can fix this:

Thanks for the prompt reply. The suggested code prevented FoxitReader popping up but unfortunately also prevented the barcode from printing!

Any other suggestions?

As mentioned in the earlier link, you can give foxit some more time to print. The example code:
Code:
"%GDPUTIL%" -runkill 30 ..........

gives foxit 30 seconds to finish printing and that may not be enough for big or complex pdf files. Try to increase it to 120.
