Print PDF Files
Apr 6th, 2016 at 8:37pm

Greetings,

I am running 4.9.3 pro and I am trying to setup the "Print PDF Files". I keep getting the following:

... Failed to get printer
Plugin returned errorcode 1. Error Message=Not supported watchDirectory will continue...

I am trying to print to a printer share. Is this possible to print to networked / shared printers?

Thanks,
Chase

Make sure the user who runs the task has the right to use the printer.
This error message indicates insufficent rights. If you run the task as windows service make sure the user under which the service is running has the right to use the printer.

Dirk -

I added explicit permissions to the printer share for the service account I was using, however this had no effect and I received the same error message.

Upon further troubleshooting I logged in as the service account on my Watch Directory server and installed the printer for that service user. The plugin seems to work fine after that. I am thinking that is a requirement if I am running it as a service. The service account would need that printer installed at some point.

Thank you both for the help!

Thanks for the update.

You are right, I had forgotten to mention this.
The service user account needs to login once and configure a printer. When the task runs as Windows Service under that user the plugin now can find a printer and print.
