Event date and time
Nov 29th, 2016 at 11:11am
Please can you give me some information on what the event date and time as recorded in the History database actually represent. I assume that it is the date and time that WatchDirectory detects the event. Is this date and time provided by the Windows event recorded by the server that is hosting the detected file? I ask this question as, usually, a task will detect a file < 5 seconds after the file is modified (WD_FILE_TIME_LM) but on occasion, it can take the task up to 20 minutes to detect the change. This is with the Fast monitoring method option selected.

Please advise.

The times recorded in the history database are the system time of the computer where WD is running on. It is the time when the message is recorded. The last part of those timestamps (.001, .002, ...) is not milliseconds as some assume, they are just a sequence number to make the timestamp unique.

The WD_FILE_TIME_LM variable uses the last modified timestamp of the file itself.
