Move file after email?
Jun 29th, 2017 at 4:30pm

Hi,

I have numerous tasks which monitor folders for files arriving which are then emailed (combined) as attachments on to their final destination. This works well but I would like to archive these files after they have been emailed - is this possible?

I already do this with printing PDFs on another task, but that's a "move" option on the "print PDF" definition, whereas the only option I can see on the "send an email" definition is to "remove the file after sending the message".

Cheers,

TGM

Hi,

The way you can set this up is to create a "Run Subtasks" task - http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/plugins/wdopMultiPlugin.html

As the FIRST subtask, create a "Copy Files" task and copy (not move) the detected file to your backup location.

The SECOND subtask can email the file with the option to "delete the detected file".

I can see this would be easier if the move is implemented inside the email task, we will look into it for a future release.

Thanks Gert

I've not used subtasks before but will give that a try - sounds like it should do the trick for now

Cheers
