What is the most probable cause is that you have enabled the FILENEW *and* FILECHNG event on the "events" window ( http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/wdnewconfigpage4.html ). Depending on how the file is being created (the program that creates it), WD could start the task (and thus send email) for 1 "new file" and multiple "the file has changed" events.
If you do not require the file-has-changed event emails, you can disable it. If you DO need file-has-changed emails, you should set the "delay starting task" option on the "Other settings" page ( http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/wdnewconfigpage6.html ) to a higher value, for example 10 seconds. WatchDirectory will merge all events during this delay period and so you will receive only 1 email.
