WatchDirectory v4.8.7 beta
Mar 15th, 2014 at 7:08am

The upload for v4.8.7 beta 1 is available.

When v4.8.7 is released, it will support files and foldernames which are technically illegal under Windows. Often those are files that originate from Mac computers. WD will use their so-called short 8.3 name instead of aborting.

This first beta supports this for the Default, Polling and File Age monitoring methods. A future beta will also implement this for the Fast monitoring method.

Download / Install
Version 4.8.7 is now out of beta and the official release

Beta 2 for v4.8.7 is now available. This new beta has a fix for System.Mail (wdpostman.exe). If you used the "new email implementation" (the default), and create html email ( http://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/plugins/html_email.html ), embedding images didn't work properly.

The new download is available in the "top post".

Beta 3 is now available, see the top post for the download link.

The last few versions of the "Upload Files" task automatically tried to resume failed uploads instead of overwriting the partly written uploaded files. This caused problems on FTP servers that do not support RESUME.
Resume support is now an option you can select when you configure the task, it defaults to "off".
