FTP Upload plugin, Error Message=40202

Hello,

I'm having a weird issue with my install of watchDirectory 4.8.5. When I view a task history for a task that has died (stopped / turn red), I do not see the FTP Conversation recorded anywhere in the Task History (New version or switching to old version). I've checked the box, "Write FTP conversation to History", saved it, and even reopened the task to make sure it was checked.

I've included a sample of some of the errors which causes it to abort. The most meaningful message was at the end referring to the Remote Host refused connection request. I've tried the task with:
Keep Alive: No / Yes / Automatic
Passive: Checked / unchecked
Strict: Checked / Unchecked
Keep connection open as long as possible: Checked / Unchecked.

The below log is from the task with the following config:
Keep Alive: Automatic
Passive: Checked
Strict: Checked
Keep connection open as long as possible: Unchecked
Write Ftp conversation to history: Checked

Hello Allen,

That doesnt look like a complete log, hard to tell what is happening.

This weekend there will be a new release (v4.8.7) that will (by default) disable resume support for uploads. This was introduced in v4.7 (December 2013) and caused unexpected problems for FTP servers that do not support resume.

Previously in the old history viewer I would see a more verbose FTP log when "Write FTP Conversation to History" is clicked. Can I send you a task backup directly to your email account?

You can still switch to the old viewer by pressing Ctrl+L. You can make the old viewer the default somewhere in the wd Control Center "view -> settings".

You are currently running v4.8.5, which did have a few issues in the new viewer. The v4.8.6 release (now available for download) fixed those. However, in a few hours we will release v4.8.7, please wait for that release.

I think the errors you see are fixed in v4.8.7.... I think you receive errors because WD v4.8 always tries to "RESUME" uploads. v4.8.7 makes this an option (and it is "off" by default).

If you are still seeing the same problem with v4.8.7, please follow the instructions at http://blog-en.gdpsoftware.com/2010/06/send-task-backup-to-support.html (enable debug and write ftp conversation, run the task....). You can email me the backup directly (please mention this forum message).

Hi Gert,

Thanks for the response - Sorry I will have to install it tonight and will get back to you on Tuesday... On a side note - yes, I understand how to switch between the old and new viewer (no animated .gif necessary Wink

). The thing is, I don't see the full FTP conversation in the history log.
