Corrupt Zip Files
Sep 5th, 2014 at 1:33pm

Hi,

We have used WatchDirectory Pro for years without any problems however recently it has let us down.

I have a monitored folder where we place Oracle dmp files every night. My folder rule uses the Zip plugin and will take the contents of the folder where the .dmp files are placed and zips them before adding the date & time to the filename and finally saving the zip file in a different folder before deleting the left over .dmp file.

The problem now is that all my zip files are corrupt with CRC errors and I have pin pointed it down to the fact the .dmp files have exceeded 4GB in size (the disk is NTFS so the actual dmp files are exported OK).

If I copy a file less than 4GB into my monitored folder then it is zipped and moved OK and opens OK. If I copy any file over 4GB into my folder then it is zipped and moved but the resulting zip file is corrupt and useless.

We were on 4.7 but have now upgraded to 4.8.7 and the fault remains.

Has anyone come across this before and if so how did they get around the problem. It is causing me major issues.

Thanks,

John
