Auto Copy file to another location when Rename Fil
Mar 2nd, 2019 at 7:48am

Hi guys,
Im new to Watch Directory. I want to create a task that auto copy file to another location when rename existing file.

Ex: I have "D:\file1.txt". When i rename "file1.txt" to "D_file1.txt". After that, "D_file1.txt" auto copy to another location.

Please help me solve this problem guys.

Thanks and Best Regards.

Hi,

You can do this if you use the "Fast monitoring method", see https://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/help/wdnewconfigpage3.html

The "Fast" method is the only monitoring method that can detect renames. Use it together with the "Copy Files" task - https://www.watchdirectory.net/wdhelp/plugins/wdopAutoCopy.html

Solved my problem now,

My fault is on Filter Events. I'm missing "filename" when created filter. Smiley
Ex: filename match: D_*.* / So when i renaming file name to D_*, it moved to another location.  Smiley
