Automatically Print PDFs
Sep 27th, 2019 at 8:13am

Hello

I am using watchDirectory Professional 4.9.4
History Application 4.6.7.522

I am using the Plugins Automatically PDFs and with the option "After Printing, move pdf to this directory".

This function is very good for me but I just realize that the PDF in the destination folder is still using the security of the source folder.

I would expect the pdf to use the security from the destination folder after the pdf moved in.

Any idea how this can be done?

Thank you very much.

Best Regards,
Danny Chan

Hello Danny,

Changing the security settings by the "Print PDF" task itself will cause compatibility issues (other customers want the "old" behavior).

What you should do is create another task using the "Run a bat file" plugin to monitor for those moved pdfs. The bat file should contain something like

ICACLS "%WD_FILE%" /grant "Users":F

See icacls /? for other options (I am no expert).
