Network Drives do not show up at all.
Jan 22nd, 2026 at 11:28am

I am trying to create a file-copy task to send files from a SMB Fileshare (that has been mounted as network drive) to another network drive. Searching for target folder doesn't show any network drives in my network and using the path just shows that it isn't a valid directory.
WD runs on admin rights, the user I'm working on is admin and has access to all drives. This seems like a very basic problem but I couldn't find any solution as of now.
WD version: Professional 4.9.5

Hi,

That sometimes happens on some systems, it has to do with UAC.
You probably need to change the registry setting for EnableLinkedConnections (set it to 1), see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/networking/mapped-
drives-not-available-from-elevated-command
