WatchDirectory Control Center does not run.
May 28th, 2026 at 7:05pm

When we start the WatchDirectory Control Center, we get the Windows screen asking if we want to allow the app to make changes.  When we click 'Yes' that screen disappears but the the control center does not start.  If I look into the Windows Event Viewer, I see:
'Faulting application name: wdcc.exe, version: 4.9.5.200, time stamp: 0x59312a9a.  A few lines lower I find:
Exception code: 0xc0000005.  According to the internet that exception code generally means an exception violation.  This lead me to DISM to check for and repair corrupted files.  It didn't find anything wrong.   I ran the sfc /scannow command and it showed it did repair 3 files that appear to be bluetooth drivers.  I ran the Windows memory diagnostics tool and it didn't find anything wrong.  I ran chkdsk /r and it didn't find anything.

This is a Windows 11 PC.  There were two Windows updates installed last Thursday - security update KB5089549 and Framework Security update KB5087051.  Perhaps this caused the issue.

The services still work and the WatchDirectory Task History Viewer works.  I just can't get the Control Center GUI to come up.

Does anybody have any ideas on what is going on?  Any help will be welcomed.
Thanks,
Bobby
